Any updates on the web version?

The web version was paused to focus on the rewrite of SynapSeq. Moreover, the web version I had started was still based on SBaGen+.
The SynapSeq rewrite is a priority, since the C code is quite outdated and difficult to maintain (I had already pointed this out several times in the SBaGen+ repository).
SynapSeq version 3.0 is being written in a modern language, fully prepared for the web. This will make it easier to launch the web version with greater stability and a long-term vision.
That said, the idea of a web version has not been abandoned. The current plan is:
- Deliver a solid foundation with SynapSeq v3.0.
- Once this rewrite is stable, move forward with a web version that runs on top of it, avoiding the limitations of the old SBaGen+ engine.
This way, the web version will benefit from a cleaner design, better maintainability, and will be more future-proof. The short-term delay ensures that the long-term result will be much stronger.

Would it be possible to do the tone and effect generation with using the WebAudioAPI in a potential web version of sbagen?
ruanklein replied
From a technical standpoint, yes. The generation of binaural, monaural, and isochronic tones is essentially arithmetic; wave calculations that can be implemented in any programming language. The Web Audio API provides the tools to turn these calculations into real-time audio, so it would be perfectly feasible to recreate something in the style of SBaGen using JavaScript and this API.
And looking on GitHub, someone has already attempted a web-based version.
However, my intention with SynapSeq is to completely distance the project from SBaGen. The upcoming web version will use SynapSeq as the engine.
