Origins
From SBaGen to SynapSeq
SynapSeq began by keeping SBaGen's idea alive. Over time, preserving the idea mattered more than preserving the implementation.
SBaGen
SBaGen
Created by Jim Peters, SBaGen established sequenced, timed audio described as text.
SBaGen+SBaGen+
Ruan's direct fork maintained the original engine on modern systems and added isochronic tones.
New designSynapSeq 2.x
SPSQ was part of the first SynapSeq release, 2.0.0. The 2.x series shifted toward a simpler, render-first architecture.
New implementationSynapSeq 3.x
Rewritten from scratch in Go, it no longer depended on SBaGen or SBaGen+ code.
Independent engineSynapSeq 4.x
The independent engine and SPSQ reached a more mature foundation.
